The Asia House Festival of Asian Literature returns to London from 5th – 27th May 2010. Now in its 4th year, the Festival will host 20 talks and events by 40 acclaimed writers working in and writing on the region.

The line up of speakers includes established and emerging talents: Author of Songs of Blood and Sword, Fatima Bhutto; writer and historian William Dalrymple; author of A Life Apart, Neel Mukherjee; biographer Hilary Spurling; author and commentator Yasmin Alibhai-Brown; poet Daljit Nagra; writer Victoria Schofield and author and broadcaster John Kampfner. Also speaking are award winning Korean-American author Chang-rae Lee, Man Asian Prize short-listed author Nitasha Kaul, and Indian writers Hirsh Sawhney and Tishani Doshi all of whom will be debuting books at the Festival this year.

The festival offers a rare chance to hear authors from over 14 countries cover topics such as: the growth of Asian crime fiction; new writing from India; the evolution of Pakistani fiction; democracy and freedom in Asia, journeys of culinary discovery; and the conflict in Kashmir

The Festival will host the UKs first Asian themed book release in conjunction with BookCrossing, with several hundred free books being ‘released’ in the Marylebone area.
