The Creative Future Literary Awards

The Creative Future Literary Awards (CFLA) is a national literary competition that celebrates writers who lack opportunities due to mental health issues, disability, health or social circumstance. The prize is inviting flash fiction and poetry responding to the theme ‘Important Nothings’.

Winners are selected by a panel of industry experts, including award-winning poet and performer Lemn Sissay

Prizes include £1,000 of cash prizes and top writing development prizes supplied by The Literary Consultancy, Penguin Random House Writers’ Academy, The Poetry School, Myriad Editions, Penned in the Margins & Creative Future.

Our high-profile award event features a selection of readings from the award winning submissions, as well as performances from Lemn Sissay and our guest author, Kit de Waal.

Winning submissions are also published in an anthology alongside work by our guest authors, available in hard copy and as an e-book.
