NEW WRITING

Short stories and poetry welcome from new and emerging Asian writers across the pan-Asian region.

No set theme and any style is welcome. All work will feature in our ‘New Writing’ category.

To be featured in our New Writing Showcase, work should be work in progress, or recently published and you should only send us an extract of 500 words.

Please send us a query in the body of an email in the first instance.

Submit material as an attachment and email editor@theasianwriter.co.uk with ‘New Writing’ in the subject heading. Please ensure that your writing is in a .doc file and typed in no bigger than 12pt Times New Roman, 1.5 spaced. Include your name, address, email address and full contact details. Please attach a short biography with web links to your current work (if applicable) and a recent picture. Please address your email to Farhana Shaikh and not Dear Sirs.

Work may be edited before it is published and by submitting work to us you agree for us to use your writing on our website or in our annual. A critique is not offered on any work submitted to us, however we do offer a separate manuscript appraisal and editing service.

We receive hundreds of submissions and are not always able to write before each one before we publish so please subscribe to our free newsletter which highlights all published new writing. There is no payment for work published.

We regret due to limited resources we are not able to enter into any correspondence.
