The SI Leeds Literary Prize, a groundbreaking award for unpublished fiction by Black and Asian women writers based in the UK have announced their shortlist for this year’s prize.
The shortlist includes:

Hanging From The Hammer of The Bell – Season Butler
Blue in Green – Kit de Waal
A Mouthful of Silence – Reshma Ruia
The Queen – Anita Sivakumaran
Red is for Later and Other Stories – Farah Ahamed
The prize ceremony will take place on the 15th October 2014 as part of the Ilkley Literature Festival. There will be two pre-announcement events, one which includes the book launch of last year’s winner, Minoli Salgado at the Southbank Centre and Prize Readings at Richmix.
